Editorial Policy
How we report, check and correct the news.
Independence
We decide what to cover on news value alone. Advertisers, sponsors, federations and promoters have no say over our coverage and do not see articles before publication.
Accuracy and sources
Results, records and quotes are checked against official sources - federations, organisers, athletes and their teams - before publication. When a fact cannot be confirmed we say so, or we wait.
We name our sources whenever we can. Anonymous sources are used only when there is no other way to report a story of public interest, and the editor always knows who they are.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct the article and add a dated note at the end explaining what changed. We do not silently rewrite stories.
To report an error, use the contact form and choose "Correction request", with the link to the article.
Right of reply
People and organisations criticised in an article are asked for their side before publication when time allows. A reply that arrives later is added to the article.
Conflicts of interest
Writers who coach, compete, judge, or work for a club, federation or promoter tell the editor before covering it. The link is disclosed in the article, or the story goes to someone else.
Advertising and sponsored content
Advertising appears only in marked ad spaces. Sponsored articles are written with or for a partner, carry a visible "Sponsored" label and are kept apart from editorial coverage. The newsletter contains no advertising.
Images
We publish photos we have the right to use and credit photographers and organisers. Material is removed at the owner's request.
Use of AI tools
Software may help with transcription or translation. Every article is written, checked and approved by a person, who is responsible for it.
